We regret to inform you about the sad demise of Dr. Prasad Dhurjati, a very knowledgeable professor, a great scientist and a brilliant researcher at the University of Delaware, on July 1, 2020. He was a wonderful human being and a very helpful mentor for HSC and the entire Hindu community.
He did his Bachelors’ in 1977 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. He had his Doctorate in 1982 from Purdue University, USA. Dr. Prasad Dhurjati was a Professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Delaware. His research specialization was in Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Systems Biology/Medicine.
In 1986, he was awarded the National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator Award by President Ronald Reagan. In 2004, he was elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.
He gave many talks to HSC on the benefits of vegetarianism, following an Ayurvedic lifestyle and its correlation to gut microbiomes and their positive impact on human health!
