Statement on School Shooting in Uvalde, Texas
Hindu Students Council is horrified by the violence that was conducted at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Though it is just a first small step, we pray for the victims and their families.
This tragedy hits particularly close to home for us in HSC. We work with students in grade schools across North America, and just this past year, we started several chapters in schools across Texas. We are left without words when we think about our young students who should never have to face these fears, especially at school which is intended to be a sacred place for learning.
We recite the Mahamrityunjaya mantra for the victims and their families.
